Bees & Roses

About us

A beekeeper, an apiary and nine products

Bees & Roses is a small family brand from Serbia. Everything we sell is made in one place: at the apiary of Milan Protić, where the venom is collected, dried and blended by hand into creams, serums and oils.

How it started

It all began with one question: what can bee venom, the least used bee product, do for the skin? For years we tuned the concentration, chose hydrosols and oils and watched how skin responded – first on ourselves, then family, then the first customers. When the results repeated, the Bees & Roses night cream was born, followed by the rest of the collection.

The apiary

Our apiary is in Serbia, on terrain with diverse forage. The same hives give the venom, beeswax, honey, bee bread and propolis found in our products. We collect venom rarely and in small amounts, in a part of the apiary far from people, because bees are irritable for a few days after collection.

Handmade in small batches

We make the creams, serums and oils by hand, in batches of a few dozen pieces. Each batch is dated, and the period after opening is 3–6 months because we use natural preservatives. All ingredients apart from the venom come from the natural-cosmetics positive list; no parabens or silicones.

Honest about the limits

Bee venom is not a magic ingredient. Its effect is cumulative and needs patience. It is not for everyone – people allergic to bee products, pregnant and breastfeeding women and children must not use it. And it is not a medicine: our products are skincare, nothing more and nothing less.

Bees unharmed

We collect venom with a glass plate and a mild impulse. The bee keeps its stinger and carries on with its day.

Small batches

A few dozen pieces per batch, each dated. Never stock sitting for months.

No secret ingredients

Full INCI on every product. If we do not know what an ingredient does, we do not use it.

Safety first

Warnings, patch test and a clear list of who must not use venom – on every page.
